SEA FALCON Z SLOW MINI “LIGHTNING GLOWING RAINBOW”

Underwater lure photography in the studio with plastic or wooden lures is one challenge but heavy metal jigs are another challenge.

After a fair few test shots, timing the drop versus triggering the camera and strobes…. then cleaning the glass tank again and again and again, I finally nailed the bubble trail of a dropped metal jig.

Metallic lures always reflect everything around them, on dry land that’s easy to control but underwater is another thing. Easiest way is to shoot totally in the dark, all lights off and a non reflective velvet back ground, the only illumination is the modelling lights on the strobes. A few drops and this little 65 gram Sea Falcon Z Slow Mini Jig’s metallic rainbow colours just pops amongst the air bubbles.
