NIKON LEGENDS – NIKON F NIPPON KOGAKU TO Z9

Most days I spend shooting products for catalogues but going back to my roots with film has been a project that’s taken some time. My first Pro camera was a Nikon F3 back in the early 80’s. I went full digital at the release of the Nikon D1 in 1999, and since then owned just about every Pro Grade Nikon since. Going back to film for a bit of nostalgia saw me do a self full restoration of a Nikon F Nippon Kogaku and a Nippon Kogaku Nikkor-S Auto 55mm f/1.2, which Ive just completed.
Before loading up with film, I thought it would be a great comparison between the first Nikon SLR and the latest, the Z9. The most technically advanced Nikon cameras of their time, from analog to digital, they’ve got bigger, heavier and incredibly technically advanced.   So here’s my 1959 Nippon Kogaku version of the Nikon F with the first F-Mount f1.2 lens, a Nippon Kogaku Nikkor-S Auto 55mm f/1.2 side to side to the latest, the Nikon Z9 with Nikkor -Z 50mm F/1.2 S.
Love fast 50’s and Nikon
