The power of fire. There’s something about lighting a fire that reignites primal beginnings. One of the first challenges on the Fly Program is lighting a fire using a flint.
At the end of a long day, everyone is cold, wet, tired and hungry, lighting a fire not only for warmth and cooking helps lift emotions which are often strained. Watching the guys work together to collect dry foliage, kindling and wood, combining their efforts and keeping their cool for over 30 minutes till the first flame flickered was a unique experience to observe.
